Suzuki has just launched its legendary off-road vehicle at the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on Saturday (13/8) yesterday. And according to PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), the Jimny, which is sold in Indonesia, is only available in a limited edition of 88 units. The price is IDR 285 million including tax for the Jabodetabek area and is only available in automatic transmission only.
What was amazing was that all of them were sold out before GIIAS started and the list of customers reached 205 people, so Suzuki had to make a selection for 88 people selected.
What are the advantages of this limited edition Jimny that invited many off-road fans to be interested in proposing him? As an off-road car, the Suzuki Jimny is still packed with a compact body to stay agile when going through various road conditions, including extreme road conditions.
With the designation as an off-road vehicle, the Jimny doesn't look stiff like most SUVs. The dynamic curved surface creates a smoother but thicker look to the new generation SUV design. The Jimny is now equipped with a larger headlight design, wide guard splash, and 205/70 R15 tires, as well as a Rail Roof Rack, and spare tires that carry the strong character of a functional and practical SUV.
Jimny remains positioned as a strong vehicle for off-road terrain as his playground. The Jimny front and rear suspension uses 3-Link Rigid Axle with Coil Spring, ground clearance reaches 190 mm. This compact off-road car has a wheelbase of only 2,250 mm with a total body length of 3,695 mm, width of 1,600 mm and height of 1,705 mm. While the width between the wheels is presented 1,365 mm.
The Jimny's short front bumper makes it have an approach angle of 340, a ramp break-over angle of 310, and a short rear bumper that provides a departure angle of 460. Having a turning radius of 4.9 meters makes it easy to maneuver when it comes to avoiding narrow terrain.

In order to remain capable of dealing with inhospitable terrain, Suzuki equipped the Jimny with a DOHC four-cylinder engine coded M13A with aluminum material. The 1,328 cc capacity with 16 valve VVT produces 80 hp at 5,500 rpm, while the torque is 110 Nm at 4,500 rpm.
Even though Jimny has the ability to play on off-road terrain, Suzuki has not forgotten that road surface safety is also a concern. Jimny has relied on the Antilock Braking System (ABS) and Dual SRS airbags to protect passengers and drivers.
